During the Oscars Stella got all cuddly just kind of chilled on my shoulder. Curtis and I both noticed this isn't quite normal and looked at each other going something is wrong. Sure enough she had a little fever. So yesterday I stayed home with her to make sure she was soothed and comforted by her mommy.
Now her is my dilemma...is it wrong to take a little enjoyment in my daughter being sick??? I found today that I felt even closer to her then before (if that is even possible) and just really enjoyed being able to comfort her all day yesterday.
I got to hold her most of the day in my arms while she took little naps and ate. She ate all day long since I think her throat was really bothering her and the milk helped sooth & coat her throat.
The doctor is really encouraging us to allow her to play on her own and not to over hold her so she doesn't get spoiled. Which I understand and it is what we did with Luke but I'm having a bit of a hard time as I know she is my last baby and I just don't want this phase to end yet!!!
Though I really don't want a spoiled little princess...just a happy little flirty fairy princess...there is a difference in my world!!!!

I say no, you're her mother! it's only natural to enjoy every little bit of time spent with her, holding her, cuddling her :) and, it also validates our role as mother and care taker, knowing that she needs you to get through this illness.
ReplyDeletea friend of mine is frequently jealous of how much Logan enjoys cuddling, since her boy does not. so when her son is sick, there is a small part of her that enjoys it too, since that is the only time he wants to be held closely.... :)
